The program was first organized in 2023 under the title Modern Greek for Classicists and was renamed International Modern Greek Seminar for Classicists in 2024. It took place at the Department of Communication and Media Studies of the NKUA in 2023 and 2024 and at the Harvard Center for Hellenic Studies in Greece in 2025. The program is open to all foreign universities and to foreign students from Greek universities. Over forty students and faculty members from universities in Great Britain, the USA, and from various other universities in Europe and Asia have participated in the program.
In 2026, the seminar will take place from June 22 to June 26 at the Department of Communication and Media Studies of the NKUA.
